This is Clive Meakin's 301 with the early 10.5" Series Six that he used for the very first review of the arm. With prices stilll rising and very good support, the classic Garrards, along with the best of their contemporaries can make a very good turntable with the advantage of beinga a sound investment, Review Here |

A classic Thorens TD124 with a polished/gold plated 10.5" arm. The10.5" arm is a tight fit to the Thorens chassis so we have a thin spacng tube available that fits under the arm board to allow fitting of the locking nut. There is an extended arm board that allows the 12" arm to fit. A Thorens mounting template for 9 and 10.5" arm is here in pdf format. Check that it prints full size. |

An original series Technics 1210 with copper mat, upgraded power supply, fitted with a Rega-geometry Series Six using the Audiomods/Technics mounting plate. Only the Classic Six will fit onto 3rd party arm boards, the micrometer base is in the way. This is a dedicated micrometer version complete with base. It can convert for other turntables, a simple, reversible diy conversion. |

The 9" Technics-version Series Six will also fit the current 1210G and GR types. The mountings are the same except for the position of the screw holes. This is a "universal" mounting board where the two sets of screw holes can be seen. Arms for the 1210 need to use a thread-and-weight antiskate, there is no room to fit the Series Six wheel type. |

This Empire 598 uses a fixed arm mounting on the suspended sub-chassis and the arm passes through a hole in the plinth top. It was possible to make a complete custom base for the Classic Six to make it match up and avoid cutting the original. Fitting a new arm to te Empire 208 is much simpelr because it doesn't have the suspened subchassis. A Linn-geometry arm can be fitted without modifying the base. |

This started out as a Lenco GL75, modified with a new, high mass plinth and Peter Reinder's "PTP" conversion. Fitted with a 10.5" Series Six in matt finish. The modifications raise the Lenco to a serious modern standard. |

The best of the high-end Japanese Direct drives often never came to the UK because of the domination of the LP12. They are amogst the best turntables ever. But I am biased, this is my own Denon DP-80 in a modern George Darras plinth with a Lyra Kleos. It remains my "reference" and it now has a 12" arm fitted. |

This Ariston is another of the classic turntables to look out for. They are capable of partnering the best of modern arms and cartridges and have good support. They were often fitted with Rega arms, so a 9" Audiomods is a drop-in replacement. |
